The Napoleonic Wars stand out as one of the most extensive series of conquests in world history. The Peninsular War specifically highlights the smaller-scale conflicts between the British, Portuguese, and Spanish armies resisting the ambitions of the French Emperor Napoleon. In contrast to larger battles occurring elsewhere during this period, engagements in the Iberian peninsula were comparatively smaller.
